WASHINGTON — US President Donald Trump, Vice President JD Vance and candidates from both major political parties are making their final campaign efforts on Monday, November 2, one day before Americans head to the polls for the 2026 midterm elections.
Trump is scheduled to deliver his closing campaign message at the Lincoln Memorial Reflecting Pool in Washington, DC, at 2 p.m. Eastern Time. The event marks the conclusion of an extensive campaign effort that has included numerous rallies across the country in support of Republican candidates.
The president has focused much of his campaign on encouraging voters to support Republicans as the party seeks to maintain its control of Congress. Economic conditions, energy prices, immigration and the administration’s policies have featured prominently in the campaign debate.
Vice President JD Vance is also campaigning for Republican candidates. He is scheduled to visit Rome, New York, to support congressional candidates Anthony Constantino and Kailee Buller. The candidates are seeking to strengthen Republican representation in the House of Representatives.
Democrats are also making their final push in several competitive states. In Michigan, Democratic Senate candidate Abdul El-Sayed is holding campaign events in Ypsilanti, Flint, Royal Oak and Detroit to encourage supporters to vote.
In Texas, Democratic Senate candidate James Talarico and gubernatorial candidate Gina Hinojosa are scheduled to hold a joint campaign rally in Austin. Republican Senate candidate Ken Paxton is also making campaign appearances in the state as both parties seek support from voters.
The final campaign day comes amid concerns over the cost of living, high energy prices and the economic impact of the Iran war. These issues have become important topics in the national political debate, with Republicans and Democrats offering different explanations and policy approaches.
The November 3 elections will determine control of the US House of Representatives and Senate. All 435 House seats and 35 Senate seats are being contested, making the outcome important for the balance of political power in Washington.
With campaigning entering its final hours, candidates across the country are concentrating on voter turnout and encouraging supporters to participate in Tuesday’s elections.
